Moving home, or a longer trip for your bike

Moving to a new place, buying a bike out of town, or sending one to a specialist a few hours away: MotoLimo goes anywhere within about 500 km of the GTA, as long as the trip starts or ends in the GTA, or is on the way back. Tell us both ends and the timing, and we’ll work out the trip.

The job sheet

Moving and longer trips

Good for

  • Moving home, when the mover won’t take the bike
  • Buying or selling a bike in another town
  • Taking a bike to a specialist shop out of the area
  • Trips that have to happen on a particular day

Have ready

  • Both addresses (a town or postal code is enough to start)
  • The dates that work, and how flexible you are
  • The make and model, and how many bikes

Confirmed on the call

  • The day: MotoLimo works mostly by appointment, and longer trips are best planned ahead
  • The price for the route
  • The pickup and delivery times at each end

When you move

Most reputable movers won’t put a motorcycle in the moving truck: it can void the insurance on your household contents, and a lot of people only find out close to moving day. MotoLimo takes the bike from the old address to the new one on its own trip, on the day that suits your move.

For real estate agents

Clients moving with a motorcycle? Let them know before moving day that their mover may not take it, and pass on MotoLimo’s number: 416-651-2424. They can call for a price at any stage of the sale.

How far

Anywhere within about 500 km of the GTA, as long as the trip starts or ends in the GTA, or is on the way back to it: a bike picked up in Sudbury for a shop in Bracebridge is on the way home, so it works. See the map on the service areas page, or call and ask.

Quickest answer: 416-651-2424. The crew is often on the road, so a call usually beats the form.

If you ever need to transport your bike, MotoLimo should be first on your list. And when you call, you should check out his truck and equipment. Fantastic, state of the art lifting platform which will hold your bike solid!

Questions

About moving and longer trips.

How far will you go?

Anywhere within about 500 km of the GTA, as long as the trip starts or ends in the GTA or is on the way back. Not sure about yours? Call and ask.

Will my mover take my motorcycle?

Often not. Many reputable movers won’t put a motorcycle in the moving truck, because it can void the insurance on your household contents. Ask your mover early, and book the bike its own trip.

We work mostly by appointment, and a longer trip is best planned ahead. Sometimes a same-day trip is possible: call and ask.
